2015-11-10 - INTRAC appointed distributor for Massey Ferguson in Estonia and Latvia
Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), is set to boost its full line presence in the Baltic States and further strengthen its Sales, Customer Service and Support network with the appointment of new distribution partners.
Effective 1 January 2016, Sales and Support for the full-line of Massey Ferguson farm machinery products will be handled by INTRAC Eesti in Estonia and INTRAC Latvija in Latvia. This includes MF tractors, harvesting machinery, hay and forage tools.
The new agreements were officially signed on 10 November 2015 on the Massey Ferguson stand at Germany’s Agritechnica Show, Europe’s premier exhibition for agricultural machinery and technology.
Speaking at the show, Richard Markwell, Massey Ferguson Vice-President and Managing Director, Europe/Africa/Middle East said: “The Baltic States are key markets for Massey Ferguson and we are delighted to announce the appointment of the highly-experienced INTRAC as our full-line, distribution partner. Our new distribution arrangements, dedicated to Massey Ferguson, coupled with our wider product range will give fresh impetus to the brand and our customer support in the region.”
“At Massey Ferguson, we are single-minded in our objective to give customers the very best experience – from the initial decision to buy a piece of MF equipment, right through its lifetime of operation,” Mr Markwell continues. “These new appointments are part of our key strategy to reinforce our customer service still further and ensure an increased availability of exclusive Massey Ferguson expertise, both operational and technical in our distribution outlets. At the same time, our expanded product range across the Baltics will give farmers and contractors a far greater choice from the full-line of MF machinery.”
INTRAC is a leading distributor of heavy machinery in the Baltic region. With more than 20 years’ experience and with exclusive agencies for a number of internationally well-known producers, today it serves a fleet of approximately 3000 machines in the Baltic States. Total sales in the Baltics are expected to reach EUR 45 million in 2015. The company operates through a network of 12 sales and service outlets in the region. In Estonia, INTRAC's main offices, workshop and parts warehouse are located in Tallinn, with branches in Pärnu, Tartu, Jöhvi and Saaremaa. In Latvia, INTRAC is headquartered in Riga with branches in Saldus, Valmiera and Rezekne.
“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement to represent Massey Ferguson in Estonia and Latvia – it will enable us to serve our farmer customers here even better,” remarks INTRAC Group President Carl Leijonhielm. “Our partnership with Massey Ferguson is a perfect match between a high-quality producer and our well-developed Baltic service network, a combination which we believe will achieve great success in the market.”
Adds Richard Markwell, “As we move the Massey Ferguson business to the next stage of its development in Estonia and Latvia, we look forward to providing a wider range of equipment to farmers in the Baltic States and to continuing to support them with a broad variety of mechanization solutions and after-sales services.”
